Four Women and a Death

In June 2004, in the Austrian holiday region of Mondsee, shooting began on an entertaining new ORF detective series. Ten 45-minute episodes of “Four Women and a Death” have initially been scheduled to air. The series focuses on four remarkable women with an equally remarkable pasttime. Whenever an unexplained fatality occurs in the neighborhood, these ladies immediately suspect that a murder has been committed... and they’re invariably right! The leading roles are played by German TV star Gaby Dohm, together with Adele Neuhauser, Brigitte Kren and Martina Poel, while the cast also includes Michael Ostrowski and Raimund Wallisch. Plots are written by Uli Brée and Rupert Henning (”Die Brüder“) based on an idea by Wolf Haas and Annemarie Mitterhofer. The episodes are directed by three great masters of the Austrian film scene: Harald Sicheritz (three episodes), Wolfgang Murnberger (four episodes), and Andreas Prohaska (three episodes).
